Three people were transported to area hospitals after a single-car crash on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township on Sunday, Oct. 19.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m., when a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro carrying three occupants lost control while traveling south on the on-ramp and attempting to merge onto the interstate. The car crossed onto the center median before striking an embankment.
All three occupants were listed as having sustained “possible injury,” though no exact details were listed on a state police news release. The driver, 26-year-old Michael D. Fortier, of Mars, was charged with exceeding the speed limit in an urban district.
