Man charged with stalking Slippery Rock Mayor Longo

A Boston, Mass., man, who grew up across the street from Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo’s home, has been charged with stalking him.

Todd James Hogue, 36, was charged Thursday, Oct. 9, with felony stalking, two misdemeanor counts of endangering a public official and one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats and harassment following a series of threatening messages sent to Longo.

Police said they were informed June 28 that a man had posted Longo’s home address to Facebook, continuously posted harassing comments and attempted to contact his family and friends. Police found the man had posted Longo’s address 15 times.

“Even with so many recent violent attacks against political figures, I’m at a loss as to how or why someone would go so far as to share their desire for me or my wife to die, publicize our home address where we raise our newborn daughter, constantly harass my friends and family, or threaten me and my family over political differences,” Longo said.

A statement from the Gilliland Vanasdale Law Office on Hogue’s behalf said Hogue maintains that Hogue is the victim and questioned the timing amid a contested election.

“We will vigorously advocate for justice in court on behalf of our client and the constitution that guarantees him and all of us the right to free speech and freedom from political prosecution,” the statement said.

Police said they viewed screenshots of a man named Sam Hogg posting Longo’s address in comment sections of posts made by Longo and other users. Other screenshots showed Hogg engaging in aggressive behavior with others about political beliefs.

Police searched Hogg’s and Longo’s Facebook accounts and found Hogg messaged Longo six times July 19 with threats toward him and his wife.

Police found during the search one of the users associated with Hogg’s account was named TJ Hogue. Police tracked the IP address of the post to the Boston area, and mobile phone records were tracked back to Hogue.

Police said Longo was previously friends with the Hogue family, and the two had engaged each other on social media many times before.

These incidents weren’t the first time the pair had clashed. Police said in September 2024, they were made aware of Hogue repeatedly messaging Longo and his mother.

Police were also made aware Aug. 7 of a fake Facebook account impersonating Longo that had been sending friend requests to his friends and family and posting comments to intentionally start arguments. Police did not confirm if the fake account was related to Hogue.

“Since September of 2024, for almost 400 days, our time with our new baby girl was sabotaged, our peace destroyed and our safety constantly in question,” Longo said. “This isn’t the first or only time that we have experiences such vile hate and threats of violence but it is certainly one of the worst instances.”

Hogue’s preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.

This story was updated Oct. 10, 2025 to include comments from Longo and Oct. 14 to include a comment from Hogue’s attorney.
