East Butler is still down one council member and is struggling to find a replacement.

That struggle continued during the council meeting Monday, Oct. 6, when council voted unanimously to accept Fran Stutz’s letter of declination.

Efforts to fill the vacant seat began shortly after former councilman Ed Nagy resigned from the role in August. In a letter for residents, he explained he had grown too old and that he was proud of the work council had accomplished.

Moving forward, council said the position will be re-advertised and it will be accepting letters of interest.
