The former Butler Brew Works building at 101-107 S. Main St., Butler, was sold for $287,500 Friday at an online mortgage foreclosure sale by the Butler County sheriff’s office, according to the foreclosure auction site.

The sale price exceeds the $124,643 judgment the Progress Funds of Greensburg obtained against Butler Brew Works LLC through Butler County Common Pleas Court.

Butler Brew Works announced via its Facebook account on April 1, that it will be closed “until further notice.” On that day, a representative of Butler Brew Works told the Butler Eagle it has faced an uphill battle since the onset of the pandemic and is currently evaluating its options moving forward.

According to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s license search, Butler Brew Works had two licenses expire on Dec. 31, 2024. One is listed as a brewery license for the Butler Brew Works location on Main Street in Butler. The other is listed as a brewery storage license for a location in Valencia. The licenses are classified as manufacturer’s licenses requiring annual renewal, according to a PLCB official.
