Jeeps welcomed at 6th annual Bantam TrailFest
Those who weren’t able to take part in this year’s Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival can get their fill of off-roading at the sixth-annual Bantam TrailFest, held Friday to Sunday, Oct. 10 to12, at the Bantam Quarry at Kildoo property in Portersville.
TrailFest, which is organized by the Friends of the Bantam Jeep Association, originally was conceived in 2020 as a replacement event for that year’s Jeep festival, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unlike the larger festival, which is held each June at Cooper’s Lake Campground in Worth Township, the Bantam TrailFest is meant to be a smaller, more laid-back affair, with a cap of 500 Jeeps to be registered.
Friday night will feature the Jeepers Creepers Night Crawl, where riders are challenged to take on the trails while dodging costumed volunteers, as well as a meet-and-greet bonfire at 9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday will feature additional trail-riding sessions.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to wear themed costumes as part of the “Scare Team” to enhance the Jeepers Creepers Night Crawl. Volunteers who sign up by Sunday, Sept. 21, will receive a free T-shirt.
Registration is $120 per Jeep and includes admission for the driver and all passengers, plus access to all four trail rides at the quarry.
