SUMMIT TWP — Herman Volunteer Fire Company is set to receive nearly $30,000 by the end of the month for this year’s allocation of funds from the state.

Supervisors voted 2-0 at a meeting Wednesday, Sept. 17, to give the annual allocation of state funds, $29,420.04, to the Herman Volunteer Fire Company Relief Association.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General, the association received slightly less last year, $27,591.75.

Township secretary Roxann Stickney said she received two conflicting dates for when the money will be deposited, but expects it to be available to Herman’s firefighters by the end of the month.

The next Summit Township supervisors meeting is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Oct. 1.
