Mary Lou Bollinger
Mary Lou (Spohn) Muti Bollinger passed peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born in Butler on March 7, 1935, she was the daughter of Alfred Spohn and Maria Marra Spohn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Genevieve Spohn Moore; brothers, Chester Spohn, Alfred N. (Nick) Spohn, Michael A. Spohn, Joseph Spohn and Richard Spohn; husbands, Louis Muti and Terry Bollinger; and a grandchild, Gabriel Muti.
Mary Lou is survived by her sister, Camilla Spohn Adams; her five sons, Carmen A. Muti (Mary Lou), of Harmony, L. Thomas Muti (Beth), of Milwaukie, Ore., David A. Muti (Gracie), of Houston, Texas, Kevin L. Muti, of Houston, Texas, and Christopher D. Muti (Andrea), of Beaver Falls, Pa.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Alfred Rodriguez, Steven Rodriguez, Nathan A. Muti, Erin M. (Muti) Otey, Amanda C (Muti) Nash, Benjamin N. Muti, Steven C. Muti and Rachel M. Muti; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou served over 25 years as a registered nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital and later as a visiting nurse. After retirement, she was a longtime Meals on Wheels volunteer. She was known as an excellent cook and hosted many large family gatherings. Her friends were in awe by being served food and drink any and every time they happened to stop by.
Mary Lou strived to stay busy in her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, card groups and visiting with friends and family. She took pride in her home and kept things very tidy.
BOLLINGER — Per her request, friends and family of Mary Lou (Spohn) Muti Bollinger, who died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, are invited to gather for Mass and fellowship, in lieu of a visitation, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler.
