Betty J. Callender, 64, of West Sunbury, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at her residence.

She was born May 25, 1961, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Charles Parsons and Macie Stover Parsons.

She was the wife of Edwin Callender, whom she married Sept. 21, 1978, in Chicora.

Betty is survived by a son, Edwin Callender III; daughters, Karen (Shawn) McDonald, Marie Hewitt, Shawnya McMasters, Becky Angello, Jenny Switzer, Lisa (Thomas) Mackey and Chyanne Callender; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rita, Margo, Brenda and Helen; and one brother, Herb.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Robert; one niece; and one grandson.

CALLENDER — Friends of Betty J. Callender, who died Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas J. Kelley, pastor of Church of God, in Karns City, officiating.

Interment will follow in Saint John Reformed Cemetery, Chicora.
