Saxonburg Artisan Festival returns Saturday and Sunday

For decades, Saxonburg has kicked off the fall with an annual arts festival, and that continues this year with the second annual Saxonburg Artisan Market on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6 and 7.

This year, the Artisan Market will feature a whopping 100 food and craft vendors, nearly double the 55 that signed up for last year’s festival. The show will also feature artistic demonstrations of plein-air painting and blacksmithing, as well as pony rides and a petting zoo.

Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church will host the fine arts show, which has been the centerpiece attraction of Saxonburg’s arts festivals. The show will exclusively feature oil, watercolor, and acrylic paintings, including a group of works which have been entered under the theme of “Holidays.”

Both days of the event will feature live musical entertainment across Main Street, at the South Butler Community Library, and at Heritage Wine Cellars.

The Saxonburg Museum will also be holding a basket raffle at Roebling Park, with proceeds benefiting the renovation of the replica Brooklyn Bridge at the park.

The Artisan Market runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
