The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, in collaboration with a company providing customer experience management software, recently added more than 350 retail locations where customers can pay their tolls in cash.

The commission said in a release Monday that even though it moved to a cashless system and recently rolled out automatic charges as part of its “open road tolling,” it partnered with KUBRA in 2022. KUBRA facilitates cash payment of tolls for customers who prefer it or those who do not have a bank or E-ZPass account.

To use cash, turnpike customers must select the option when paying on their online account at www.paturnpike.com or through the turnpike’s app, PA Toll Pay. Customers then select a nearby participating retailer, generate and print a pay slip and stop in at a retail location, the commission said.
