Emlenton man accused of photographing another person in public restroom

An Emlenton man is accused of photographing another person without their knowledge in a Cranberry Township public restroom in July, according to police.

Griffin Swartzlander, 29, was charged Tuesday, Aug. 19, with misdemeanor counts of possessing an instrument of a crime, criminal attempt at invasion of privacy and invasion of privacy.

According to an affidavit, police were called to the Hobby Lobby on Route 19 for reports of a man who had recorded another man without consent in the bathroom.

At the store, police said a witness told them Swartzlander held his phone underneath a bathroom stall before leaving the bathroom and store at a very fast pace.

Swartzlander’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 19 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
