Butler man charged with indecent exposure, harassment following incident at public library
A Butler man is facing multiple charges in connection with an alleged Thursday, Aug. 21, incident at the Butler Area Public Library.
Police charged Timothy Davanzati with four counts of harassment, three counts of disorderly conduct, two counts of indecent exposure and one count of indecent assault following the alleged events.
Shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday morning, a Butler city police officer was dispatched to the library for reports of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, a woman told the officer that a man exposed himself and masturbated while behind her.
The library sent a video to police, confirming the woman’s account of the incident, according to an affidavit.
Davanzati proceeded to call 911 and said he was going to turn himself in, according to police. Two hours after the incident, he arrived at the police station, where he agreed to an interview, police said.
According to the affidavit, after police identified him as the male in the video, Davanzati admitted to the acts.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 8 at 1:15 p.m. in front of District Judge William Fullerton.
