A Chicora man was sentenced to probation and ordered to register with state police for 15 years as a Megan’s Law offender on Thursday, April 7, after pleading guilty to having inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old girl in 2022.

Theodore S. Weniger, 42, was sentenced to concurrently serve two 15 to 60 month sentences in jail, but was paroled with credit for having served 520 days in the Butler County Prison, and fined $1,000 after pleading guilty to felony charges of corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim, who did not attend the sentencing hearing.

In addition, Common Pleas Court Judge Joseph Kubit told Weniger that he has been found to be a tier 1 offender under Megan’s Law and will have to register with police for 15 years. Weniger is deaf and was assisted by a sign language translator in addition to his attorney from the public defender’s office.

A related criminal case against his wife Briana Weniger, 44, of Union City, is pending in court.

State police said Theodore Weniger exposed himself to the girl, had her perform sexual acts, smoked marijuana with her and was naked with her in a travel trailer in Concord Township. Briana Weniger is accused of smoking marijuana and drinking with the girl while in the presence of two other minors. Police filed charges against both in September 2023.

In April 2023, police said a witness reported seeing Theodore Weniger and the girl in the trailer on multiple occasions without clothing.

According to charging documents, other witnesses reported seeing the Wenigers and the girl smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol in the trailer.

In a forensic interview, the girl disclosed that she and Theodore Weniger had been naked in the trailer many times, police said.

She also said Theodore Weniger asked her to touch him inappropriately and convinced her to do so by referencing the Bible, police said.

According to police, the girl further disclosed that she drank and smoked marijuana with Briana Weniger.

Other witnesses interviewed by police reported that Theodore Weniger had set up a camera to watch the 16-year-old girl sleep. Police said he had videos of the girl saved in an online account.

Theodore Weniger told police in May that he provided marijuana to the girl, smoked it with her and his wife, and had been naked with the girl several times, police said.
