Zelienople Community Park opens new permanent bag toss area
Zelienople Community Park now boasts one more recreational activity in the form of a permanent bag toss area, funded and built by the Zelienople Area Rotary Club.
The borough’s parks and recreation department reached out to the Rotary for the group’s help in funding the new bag toss area and it responded with a donation of $3,000. In addition, Rotarians provided volunteer labor to construct the area, and Rotarian Kevin Trobaugh — owner of Transfigurations Landscaping & Construction in Baden, Pa. — led the project.
The bag toss area is next to the park’s Rotary shelter, which is available for rental for large events. The area is open during regular park hours, and players can either bring their own bags or borrow some from the park office.
