3 hospitalized after trucks collide in Slippery Rock Township
A driver and two passengers were taken to a Grove City hospital with injuries after a two-vehicle collision in Slippery Rock Township on July 7.
The collision reportedly took place just before 2:30 p.m., when the vehicles — a 2013 GMC Sierra and a 2020 Ford F-350 — were traveling east on Franklin Road. According to the police report, the Ford slowed to make a left turn off Franklin Road, but the GMC did not react fast enough and rear-ended the Ford.
Both vehicles were disabled as a result of the crash, and the Ford was turned around 90 degrees before coming to rest. All three occupants of the Ford were transported to AHN Grove City with what were described as “injuries of unknown severity” by the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company. These included the 52-year-old male driver and two female passengers, age 39 and 11.
The driver of the GMC, 30-year-old Benjamin J. Hostetler of Harrisville, was not injured, but was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device.
