One individual was flown by helicopter to a hospital after a crash on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township on Friday afternoon, July 11.

The incident was first reported just prior to 3 p.m. Friday, and occurred near the intersection with Route 422. While the exact number of vehicles and occupants is unclear, a red compact car with major front-end damage was towed away from the scene.

According to a Butler County dispatcher, one individual was taken by LifeFlight to an area hospital, with the Herman Volunteer Fire Company building being used as a landing zone for the helicopter.

In addition to Herman, the East Butler Volunteer Fire Company, East Butler Ambulance, and Pennsylvania State Police all responded to the crash. Traffic on Bonniebrook Road was completely blocked between the intersections at Route 422 and Pine Road by emergency crews.
