Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
June 17 — Ross A. Byers, 25, of Valencia, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol following a March 29 traffic stop. Police said Byers had a blood alcohol content of 0.191%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
June 22 — Tyler P. Lynn, 34, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following a June 22 incident. Police said Lynn scratched a woman during a fight.
June 2 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 8:20 a.m. on the I-76 Exit 28 ramp in Cranberry Township. Police said Pedro J. Roman, 49, of Lorain, Ohio, was driving a Kenworth T2 Series truck when he lost control and struck the center concrete barrier with his vehicle. Police determined Roman was driving too fast for conditions when the truck rolled onto its drivers side and lost its load. The truck sustained disabling damage and blocked the entire off-ramp. Roman was assessed by the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Service for suspected minor injuries.
June 17 — Cody R. Southworth, 34, of Cabot, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a June 5 incident in Clearfield Township. Police said Southworth had a BAC of 0.153%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
June 17 — Jacob R. Trinkley, 28, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following a May 29 incident in Summit Township. Police said Trinkley struck a man in the face. The man required treatment at Butler Memorial Hospital.
June 17 — Michael P. Brown, 38, of Sharon, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following a May 29 incident in Summit Township. Police said Brown threateningly approached a man, attempted to throw bricks at him and attempted to hit him with a rake.
June 18 — Caitlyn Sue Zampogna, 24, of Kane, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following an April 28 traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Zampogna had a blood alcohol content of 0.131%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
June 18 — Michael A. Demko, 45, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession following a June 3 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Demko had two syringes, a glass stem pipe with residue and four empty glassine bags with residue.
June 18 — Trina M. Holderman, 36, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts and one misdemeanor count each of controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a May 19 incident. Police said Holderman had one glassine bag of suspected fentanyl, a glass pipe and showed signs of impairment.
June 19 — Donald E. Vargo, 50, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following a May 29 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Vargo showed signs of impairment but refused a blood draw.
June 19 — Alexis J. Schrecengost, 29, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor DUI counts following an April 13 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Schrecengost had a BAC of 0.109%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
June 19 — Jerome J. Lynch, 48, of Slippery Rock, was charged with felony strangulation and two misdemeanor simple assault counts following a June 18 incident in Worth Township. Police said Lynch headbutted a woman, grabbed her arms forcefully and put his hands around her neck.
June 19 — Sarah E. Penwell, 34, of Evans City, was charged with three misdemeanor DUI counts and one misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia possession following a May 23 traffic stop in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Penwell had a glass smoking bowl and tested positive for amphetamine and THC.
