Butler man accused of slapping boy, 4, after child did not eat dinner
A Butler man allegedly gave a 4-year-old boy a black eye after the child didn’t want to eat his dinner Sunday, June 15.
Russell M. Digiacomo II, 31, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor reckless endangerment following the incident in Summit Township.
Police said they received a ChildLine report Tuesday about the incident and spoke with a woman who saw the child’s injuries. The woman told police she spoke with Digiacomo about the child not eating his lasagna for lunch, so Digiacomo gave it to him for dinner.
Police said when the child did not want to eat it, Digiacomo began forcefully feeding it to the child until he began choking and threw up on Digiacomo. Police said Digiacomo then struck the child in the face, leaving a handprint on his left cheek and bruising on the other side from hitting his face off a chair after he was struck.
Police said the woman took photos that show the marks on the left side of the child’s face.
Digiacomo’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Lewis Stoughton is yet to be scheduled.
