Philadelphia man sentenced to prison in multiple drug cases
A Philadelphia man was given a lengthy prison sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking charges state police filed in six cases dating to 2022.
Imir Whitener, 25, was sentenced to a total of 81 months to 204 months in state prison under terms of plea agreements reached in each of the cases.
He was sentenced to serve 60 to 144 months and a concurrent 21 to 60 months on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine filed following a June 23, 2022, incident in Arnold, Westmoreland County.
A 21-60 month sentence was ordered on felony charges of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and conspiracy filed following an Aug. 17, 2023, incident in Butler where he and a co-defendant were found with 60 grams of cocaine. The sentence in that case runs consecutively to the Arnold case.
Whitener was sentenced to 48 to 96 months in prison for a felony count of possession with intent to deliver cocaine filed after a search warrant was executed Feb. 6, 2023, at a home where he lived in Butler. Police said they found 11 ounces of cocaine in a bookbag in a closet, 100 grams of cocaine packaged for sale and 85 grams of marijuana in a grocery bag in the closet. The sentence is concurrent with the sentence in the other cases.
He was sentenced to 21-60 months for a felony possession with intent to deliver fentanyl charge filed following a June 22, 2022, incident in Butler in which an undercover officer purchased a substance containing fentanyl, cocaine and fluorofentanyl. The sentence runs concurrently to the other sentences.
A 21-48 month sentence was imposed for a felony count of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl filed following a May 31, 2022, purchase by an undercover officer in Butler. The sentence is concurrent with the other sentences.
Finally, Whitener was sentenced to 18 to 36 months for a felony count of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl filed following a June 23, 2022, traffic stop in Butler Township. Police found 10 bundles of fentanyl on the front passenger seat of the vehicle when they searched it after obtaining a warrant. Whitener was a passenger in the vehicle. This sentence also is concurrent.
Common Pleas Court Judge Joseph Kubit included $150 fines in two of the sentences.
