USDA reminds farmers to file crop acreage reports
Pennsylvania’s agricultural producers are reminded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to make an appointment with their local Farm Service Agency county office to complete crop acreage reports before the applicable deadline.
Spring seeded small grains reports are due by Monday, June 16. Reports for all other crops, including perennial forages and those under the Conservation Reserve Program, are due on July 15. Fall seeded small grains are due on Nov. 17.
A crop acreage report documents a crop grown on a farm or ranch, its intended use and location. Producers should file a report for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage and prevented planted acreage, before the applicable deadline.
If planting is not complete by the deadline, acreage must be reported no more than 15 days after planting is completed. If a producer acquires additional acreage, it must be reported within 30 days.
