Frank Varischetti All-Star football game: Karns City, Moniteau and Union/A-C Valley send players to D-9 exhibition
The rosters have been announced for the 10th annual Frank Varischetti All-Star football game were announced on Tuesday.
Karns City’s Braden Slater, Camden Ealy, Shane Peters, Gus Harmon, Aaron Walker and Troy Nagel will play for the South team, which also rosters players from Brookville, Central Clarion, DuBois, Keystone, Moniteau, Punxsutawney, Redbank Valley and Union/A-C Valley.
Trent Beachem, Carter Sutton and Kurt Gindhart will represent Moniteau, while Owen Bish, Christian Salizzoni and Quintin Hornberger will suit up for Union/A-C Valley.
The North team consists of players from Bradford, Brockway, Bucktail, Cameron County, Kane, Otto-Eldred, Port Allegany, Ridgway, Smethport and St. Marys.
The contest will be held at Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field on Friday, June 27 at 7 p.m. General admission tickets will be available at the gate. Adult tickets are $5, while student tickets are $2.
According to MaxPreps, Slater had 61 carries for 689 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Gremlins last season. Peters had five receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Nagel had 53 total tackles, including 13 for a loss.
The Falcon Knights’ Bish completed nearly 57% of his passes, throwing for 1,120 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for another 1,012 yards and 10 touchdowns and had 60 tackles, four interceptions, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Salizzoni had 20 grabs for 194 yards and five touchdowns.
For Moniteau, Beachem threw for 1,019 yards, six touchdowns and 12 picks.
