One hospitalized after 4-car crash in Summit Township
One person was taken to the hospital for reported minor injuries following a four-vehicle crash that blocked and closed Freeport Road for roughly half an hour on Wednesday night, May 14.
The crash was first reported just prior to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night at the intersection of Freeport Road and Stutz Road in Summit Township. Four vehicles were involved, including a white sedan in which the interior airbags had visibly deployed.
One of the vehicles’ occupants was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.
“There was one minor injury, and the rest were all refusals,” said Rob Shuler, chief of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company.
Shuler added that the cause of the crash is currently unknown and being investigated by state police.
Of the four vehicles, one was able to drive away, while the rest were towed by Malinski’s Towing. Freeport Road was closed for a time, with northbound vehicles directed onto Stutz Road.
Aside from the state police and Herman, the Butler Ambulance Service and East Butler Volunteer Fire Company both responded to the scene.
