SV awarded water grant for campus fishery
Seneca Valley School District was awarded a $5,000 grant to expand and enhance the school’s fishery stream running through the secondary campus.
Seneca Valley said in a news release it plans to use the grant funds to focus on conservation efforts, add educational signage and restock the stream with fish. The district hopes to encourage students to use the fishery for hands-on learning, including SV Biotechnology Center experiments and outdoor fun for the SV Fishing Club.
“This waterway is a unique part of our campus, and we’re excited to help students learn from it, enjoy it and take pride in it,” Annie Mersing, Seneca Valley Foundation Director of Development, said in the release.
The grant was awarded by the American Water Charitable Foundation.
