Police Reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler

April 17 — Amy L. Moore, 49, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession following an April 12 incident. Police said Moore had multiple empty glassine bags in her purse.

April 21 — Michael A. Wright, 47, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following an April 20 incident. Police said Wright threw a woman to the ground and struck her in the back of her head.

April 22 — Gloria J. Mastrocesare, 73, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following an April 15 crash. Police said Mastrocesare showed signs of impairment.

State police, Gibsonia

1:09 p.m. April 21 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-76 West in Cranberry Township. Police said Timothy S. Schurr, 53, of Washington, was driving a Mack truck next to Carly M. Temple, 32, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, driving a Honda Civic when the Mack truck’s front-left tire exploded. Police said Schurr lost control and veered left striking the concrete barrier. The truck’s trailer forced the Honda Civic into another concrete barrier before it spun clockwise and stopped in the left lane.

Police said the Mack truck stopped about a half-mile down the road. Temple sustained a suspected minor injury and refused transport. Her passenger, Ronald J. Leibach, 35, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Passavant by Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Services. Schurr was uninjured.

State police, Butler

April 21 — John P. Smallwood, 54, of Pittsburgh, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following an April 16 incident in Worth Township. Police said Smallwood threw a woman causing her to hit her head.

April 21 — Thomas A. Reed Jr., 38, of New Castle, was charged with felony retail theft and one misdemeanor count each of theft and theft from a motor vehicle following a March 26 incident in Slippery Rock. Police said Reed stole a woman’s purse from her vehicle worth about $1,285 parked at Sheetz and stole other items from the store.

April 21 — Austin D. Arnold, 24, of New Castle, was charged with misdemeanor access device fraud related to an April 5 incident in Franklin Township. Police said Arnold purchased $44.71 of merchandise with a debit card, which declined after he left the store.

April 21 — Trisha L. Kusner, 32, of Hilliards, was charged with felony child endangerment, misdemeanor child endangerment and two counts of misdemeanor simple assault following a March 11 incident in Cherry Township. Police said Kusner hit two juveniles multiple times with a belt on their butt, back, thigh and pinkie.

4 p.m. April 22 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 8 and Euclid Road in Clay Township. Police said Carol J. Eury, 83, of Grove City, was traveling north on Route 8 in her Smart Fortwo when she rear-ended the Hyundai Elantra of Nicholas J. Maksin, 26, of Butler, while he was stopped in the road making a turn. Eury was transported to Allegheny General Hospital by Butler Ambulance Service with suspected minor injuries.
