Butler man facing lewdness, trespassing charges in Clearfield County
A Butler man is facing charges alleging he masturbated in front of a security camera on the porch of a DuBois home and then entered another occupied home in October.
DuBois police charged Codey Lee Davidson, 35, with felony criminal trespass, misdemeanor open lewdness and two misdemeanor counts each of loitering and prowling at night, and disorderly conduct following an Oct. 14 incident. He waived the charges to court at a Jan. 17 preliminary hearing and remains held in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
According to an affidavit, police responded to a Reams Street home after a female resident reported a shirtless man with a tattoo on his arm was on her porch and trying to enter the front door.
The man was not there when officers arrived, but the homeowners showed officers security camera footage showing a man on the porch masturbating in front of the camera, according to the affidavit.
While searching for the man with assistance from Sandy Township police officers, police said they received a dispatch around 3 a.m. about a man with the same description entering a home on Pifer Street.
The owner told police that a man entered her home while she was sleeping with her 4-year-old son and left after they exchanged words.
She told police she was awakened by the sound of the door opening and a man entering the house. She said she texted her husband to see if he had come home from work and learned that it wasn’t him, police said.
The woman told officers she heard the footsteps of the man walking around her house before he unlocked a baby gate and walked upstairs. She said she was asleep with her son and froze, police said.
The man, who was not wearing a shirt, entered the boy’s bedroom before entering the woman’s room and stood in the doorway, according to the affidavit.
The woman asked if she could help him, and he responded by asking, “Do you want some?” and putting his hands on his crotch area, according to the affidavit.
The boy woke up and said, “Mommy, who’s here” before the man turned around and ran down the steps and out of the house, according to the affidavit.
Police said they learned that the man was Davidson after they posted his photo on their social media page. A resident and a Sandy Township police officer identified him, according to the affidavit.
