Carl Muscatello
Carl Gene Muscatello, 90, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Born on March 25, 1934, Carl's life was marked by his hardworking demeanor and love for his family and faith.
Born in North Washington, Pa., he was the son of the late Salvatore (Sam) and Lisa Barone Muscatello. He was a graduate of Butler High School and attended St. Vincent College in Latrobe.
Carl was a loyal 70-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE), devoting his time to helping others and his local community at the Ormond Beach Elks Lodge 2193. In 2019, he was recognized as Officer of the Year for his contributions and service. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 8791 and a devout member of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Carl became the owner/operator of Muscatello’s bar in North Washington after his father Sam’s passing in 1981. Upon moving to Florida, Carl worked in the hospitality industry for many years before starting the job he truly loved, traveling across the U.S. to all affiliated NASCAR race tracks with Americrown Merchandising. Carl was a true fan of NASCAR and was grateful to find a career that immersed him in the sport.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Beverly Lynn Muscatello of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a sister, Mary Beatty of Butler; a sister-in-law, Audray Muscatello Yost of Butler; two daughters, Carla Lowrie (Carl) and Shelby Hibbard of Butler; and two sons, Thomas Muscatello (Mim) of Hooker, Pa., and Nicholas Muscatello of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Samuel Muscatello; brother, Bruno; sister, Betty (Robert) Hartnett; brother-in-law, James Beatty; and grandson, Matthew Hibbard.
MUSCATELLO — A Mass of Christian burial for Carl Gene Muscatello, who died Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at St. Conrad Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler. Entombment will follow for immediate family at Butler County Memorial Park.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Ormond Beach Elks Lodge 2193, 285 Wilmette Ave., Ormond Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Carl’s name be made to the Elks Lodge 2193 Building Fund in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Arrangements have been entrusted to H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire.
