Trailer, motor home destroyed in fire in Oakland Township
The sole resident of a trailer and its nearby motor home escaped injury after both were destroyed by a fire on Tuesday, Sept. 3, on Saeler Lane in Oakland Township.
When crews arrived on the scene, the fire was fully burning.
The fire was first reported shortly before 5:30 p.m. According to Gary Wulff, chief of the Oneida Valley Volunteer Fire Department, the blaze was caused by a grease fire that started in the trailer and spread to the nearby motor home.
“He had his house, and then he had his motor home parked beside it,” Wulff said. “It spread over, so both of them ended up burning up.”
In addition to Oneida Valley, fire departments from East Butler, Herman, Unionville, Butler Township and Chicora as well as the East Butler Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
