Dr. J. Jeffrey Rich
Dr. J. Jeffrey Rich, 65, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024.
He was the son of the late Dixon R. and Barbara (Batal) Rich; beloved companion of Paula Breen; loving father of Julia Rich (Scott Klipper) and James Rich (Chloe); grandfather of Jacob and Eloise Klipper; and brother of Dixon R. Rich Jr., Nancy Longman (Mike), and the late Michael W. Rich.
Jeff loved life and lived it to the fullest. He lit up any room he entered and provided the warmest welcomes and most enthusiastic toasts imaginable. He would go out of his way to make anybody who was with him feel like the most important person in the world.
Jeff was a skilled and deeply caring cardiologist. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, and worked as part of BHS Cardiovascular Consultants, providing cardiovascular services at Butler Memorial Hospital and Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was a great clinician and an extremely compassionate caregiver. His patients adored him and knew he would do absolutely everything in his power for them.
Jeff was a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, cheering on the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins whenever he could. He was a thoughtful, generous and loyal friend to a large and diverse group of people in Pittsburgh and beyond. Most importantly, Jeff was devoted to his family, to Paula and to his dog, Gracie, enjoying spending time with them in exciting vacation locales and in a relaxed environment at home.
