The Institute for Nonprofit Leadership at Slippery Rock University and its Office for Community-Engaged Learning are accepting nominations for a new nonprofit awards event.

Building Bridges: Connecting University and Nonprofit Communities, formerly the Nonprofit Academy Awards Gala, merges the university’s celebration of student and faculty civic action awardees and the institute’s celebration of nonprofits, with the goal of building stronger networks and future collaborations.

The event will have two awards sessions — a civic action awards celebration where more than 30 students will receive recognition for their accomplishments, and the institute’s annual awards celebrating the accomplishments of Western Pennsylvania’s nonprofit organizations.
