Dolly Parton

After Beyoncé shared her newest album with the world, “Cowboy Carter,” audiences learned that she covered country music icon Dolly Parton’s hit song “Jolene.”

And now Parton herself is sharing her thoughts on the cover.

“Wow, I just heard Jolene. Beyoncé is giving that girl some trouble and she deserves it,” Parton wrote.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Beyoncé announced her move into the country music scene by dropping two new songs, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”

The songs took the world by storm with her fans applauding her move to country music.

However, the move was met with pushback from other country music fans and the music industry as a whole, with many radio stations refusing to play the two songs.

Yet, despite the pushback, Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Country charts.

This isn’t the first time Dolly has praised Beyoncé.

On Instagram, Parton wrote, “I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album. So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album!”

Dolly’s statement was met with mixed feelings as some fans praised her for welcoming Beyoncé with open arms, while others weren’t as happy about it.

“If you are disagreeing with…checks notes, Dolly Parton, on what is country….maybe be more like Dolly,” one commenter wrote, as commenters said they think “country music should sound like country music.”

Michael Stuhlbarg

NEW YORK — Michael Stuhlbarg, the actor who portrayed gangster Arnold Rothstein in “Boardwalk Empire,” got caught up in a real-life crime drama, chasing a homeless ex-con who struck him in the head with a rock in Central Park, police said Monday.

Stuhlbarg, 55, was walking alone in the park near East 90th Street and East Drive when the attacker hurled a rock at him about 7:45 p.m. Sunday, cops said. The impact left the actor with a minor cut to his head.

A stunned Stuhlbarg chased the assailant out of the park, where cops stationed outside the Russian Consulate on East 91st Street near Fifth Avenue grabbed the suspect.

Police charged Xavier Israel with assault. His arraignment was pending in Manhattan Criminal Court Monday.

Israel, 27, has three prior arrests, all in Manhattan during a 10-day span in 2022. He was charged with misdemeanor assault for a Jan. 2 attack in Central Park and an Upper East Side attack on Jan. 8, according to police.

He was released both times and again arrested on Jan. 12, charged in a Midtown robbery, police said.

Records show that he was convicted of attempted robbery and conditionally released by parole on Sept. 23, 2023.

Tori Spelling

Actress Tori Spelling filed for divorce from Dean McDermott on Friday, nearly a year after the pair first announced their split.

The“Beverly Hills, 90210” star, 50, cited irreconcilable differences as the primary reason for wanting a dissolution of marriage and is seeking spousal support, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

It doesn’t appear that the two had a prenuptial agreement in place, with Spelling noting that the status of their property and shared assets are pending the finalization of the divorce.

Though she’s seeking sole physical custody of the couple’s five kids, Spelling seems to be alright with the former “Chopped Canada” host having visitation rights, according to TMZ. She’s also requesting they share joint legal custody of their children— Liam, 17; Stella, 15; Hattie, 12; Finn, 11; and Beau, 7.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, McDermott, 57, announced the pair’s split on June 17, 2023 — the same day Spelling listed as their date of separation on divorce docs. Two years earlier, Spelling revealed they were sleeping in separate beds.

The pair’s marriage, which spanned much-publicized money problems and McDermott’s infidelity, took center stage in multiple reality series, including Oxygen’s“Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” Lifetime’s“True Tori,” and Abode’s“Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever.”

Spelling and McDermott were both married — her to Charlie Shanian and him to Mary Jo Eustace — when they met on the set of the TV flick “Mind Over Murder” in 2005. They tied the knot the following May, just weeks after Spelling’s divorce was finalized. They welcomed their first child in March 2007.
