NEW YORK — Michael J. Fox will receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award during this year’s 78th Emmy Awards for his work in advancing research into Parkinson’s disease, with which he was diagnosed in 1991.

The five-time Emmy winner, 65, will receive the honor at the Sept. 14 ceremony in “recognition of his transformative contributions to Parkinson’s disease research and advocacy,” the Television Academy announced Wednesday.

“Michael J. Fox is one of television’s most beloved and enduring performers whose work has left an indelible mark on generations of audiences,” Cris Abrego, chair of the TV Academy, said in a statement. “The Television Academy is proud to honor him for his extraordinary leadership in advancing Parkinson’s research, transforming public awareness and inspiring global support through The Michael J. Fox Foundation, whose investments have accelerated scientific breakthroughs and the search for a cure.”

Fox first publicly discussed his diagnosis in 1998, seven years after receiving the life-changing news. Just two years later, he co-founded his eponymous foundation alongside Deborah Brooks.

To date, the MJFF is the world’s largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson’s research, having raised more than $2.5 billion toward the cause.

“I know we’ve done a lot, but we haven’t cured Parkinson’s ,” the “Family Ties” alum told Time earlier this year. “I’m always pushing and never happy until we get this done. We’ve changed the way people think about the disease, and we know there’s an end, and we’ll find it.”

As Abrego said, Fox “continues to exemplify compassion, courage and service, reflecting the power of one individual to drive meaningful change.”

Fox and Brooks, the foundation’s CEO, appeared on the July 22 cover of THR, which named MFF the Philanthropic Organization of the Year.

Fox is also nominated at this year’s Emmys, airing on NBC and streaming on Peacock, for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, for his role as Gerry in “Shrinking.” The nod marks Fox’s 19th Emmy nomination.

NEW YORK — Several new accusers are alleging criminal sexual conduct by Jared Leto, just over a year after the Oscar winner denied claims of “sexual impropriety” against multiple women, as laid out in a June 2025 exposé.

Ten women speak out against 54-year-old Leto, nine of whom are reportedly doing so for the first time, in the BBC’s “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” which premieres Wednesday and details alleged misdeeds by the actor between 2002 and 2016.

“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” Leto said in a statement shared with the Daily News. “These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

Of the 10 accusers featured in the documentary, four accuse the Thirty Seconds to Mars front man of criminal sexual misconduct when they were between the ages of 16 and 19.

A woman who was 16 at the time of the alleged incidents says Leto groomed and repeatedly made sexually explicit phone calls to her, and once suggested they should have sex. She has never signed the NDA he eventually sent her, which the BBC says it has seen.

One accuser, who uses the alias Isabel, says she was 17 when the “American Psycho” actor assaulted her in a motel bathroom.

Another woman, going by the name Clara, says she was 17 when Leto, then 34, committed statutory rape with her in California, where 18 is the age of consent — a conversation they discussed and he “shrugged off.”

“He told me, ‘I would like you to call me daddy.’ And it was either pretend to be a little girl or ‘my little girl,'” Clara told the BBC, adding that, “As time went on … I realized more and more how scary that really was.”

A former model, Alex, says she was 19 when she was lured by Leto’s female assistant to a London after-party. She pretended to be 17 in the hopes it would stave off Leto, though the then-41-year-old allegedly said, “Age is just a number, and anyway, we’re in Europe.” Ultimately, Alex says she and Leto ended up in a hotel room, where he threatened to sexually assault her, though she managed to get away.

The documentary also features five women who allege Leto would make “strange and often very sexual phone calls” to them. Four of them were teenagers at the time.

An accuser identified as Taylor told the BBC that she was 14, sporting braces, and attended one of Leto’s concerts with her mother in 2005. She held a T-shirt for him to sign, though he opted to do so “across my breasts,” which he then remarked on, and doubled down on even after being confronted by her mother. He’d also asked his bodyguard about taking Taylor backstage, she says.

In June 2025, AirMail published an exposé, “The Cult of Leto,” detailing the allegations of nine women who say he committed “sexual impropriety” against them. Some of the alleged incidents took place when some of the accusers were underage.

A rep for Leto at the time “expressly denied” all the allegations, which were published in the weeks after DJ and music producer Allie Teilz said she was 17 when Leto “assaulted and traumatized” her.

“He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying and unacceptable,” wrote Teilz, who had first come forward with her allegation in 2012.

NEW YORK — Olympian Simone Biles says pop star Avril Lavigne stole her sunglasses at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s raffle-filled Madison Square Garden wedding earlier this month.

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist, 29, spoke at the Faces of Fitness festival Sunday when she was asked to share “gossip” from the July 3 nuptials, attended by an estimated thousand-plus guests.

“Avril Lavigne stole my sunglasses,” said the star gymnast, according to a TikTok making the rounds, adding that she’s DMed the 41-year-old “Sk8er Boi” crooner to ask for “‘those YSLs back.'”

“But I don’t think she’s seen it yet,” Biles said about the message.

In additional to all the star power, the wedding reportedly involved raffle giveaways, including a 1970s Chevrolet Chevelle, a Chanel purse, and Cartier watches.

In the days leading up to this weekend’s festival, where Biles discussed mental health in sports, she shared a photo of herself grinning in a hospital gown and shower cap on husband Jonathan Owens’ 31st birthday.

“His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure,” she captioned the image, which showed the Indianapolis Colts safety smiling in the background.

It’s unclear exactly what procedure Biles had to undergo, but it came less than two months after “almost dying” in early June.

Biles at the time shared with followers that while she preferred to opt for privacy, the incident “was one of, if not the scariest experiences of my life, especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices.”

“I’ve been in bed resting this week, I’ll explain sooner or later,” wrote the star gymnast.
