Penn State Extension offering equine first aid workshops
The Penn State Extension is offering a workshop for horse owners and caregivers who want to brush up on how to care for their horses during medical emergencies. The Equine First Aid Workshop is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center, 245 Harmony Road in Slippery Rock.
Participants will learn how to determine when their horse is going through a health emergency, how to prepare a first aid kit for a horse, and how to wrap a horse’s leg, among other vital topics.
Instructors for this workshop are Penn State Extension equine experts Bethany Bickel, Danielle Smarsh and Olivia Watson.
Registration is $25, and the course will take about 5 hours. Registration is required before Sunday, April 7.
