Clinton Township rejects all bids for municipal building renovation

At their monthly agenda-setting meeting on Monday, March 25, Clinton Township supervisors voted to not accept any of the five bids received from contractors for the renovation of the township’s municipal building on Saxonburg Boulevard.

According to supervisor Kathy Allen, all five bids were turned away because they were over what the township has budgeted.

The township has been seeking to renovate the municipal building to bring several features up to standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act. These include widening office doors for wheelchair users, updating bathrooms for ADA compliance, and installing a button which would automatically open the front door.

With this setback, Allen said the township will reevaluate which features are truly necessary, in order to seek lower bids.

“We are re-reviewing our needs and trying to prioritize so we can make this work,” Allen said. “The bathrooms definitely need to be ADA upgraded. We’re just trying to find out exactly what we’re going to do.”
