Janet Toy
Janet Lynn (Brocious) Toy, 76, of Worthington, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Kittanning to the late Darl and Elizabeth (Steele) Brocious.
Janet worked at Eljer in Ford City right out of school. Then she was employed by Dlubak Glass in Slate Lick and Blairsville. Janet and her husband, Harold “Tiger” Toy, were owners of Hooks and Toy Auto Repair in Worthington for 36 years, until their retirement in March 2023.
She was a member of Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington.
Janet collected Legos and Precious Moments figurines. She loved going on cruises with her husband. They would travel all over the world, Europe, Russia, Alaska and through the Panama Canal to name a few. They most recently returned from a cruise a day before she passed away. They also liked to travel to Bristol, Tenn., for NASCAR races.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold “Tiger” Toy, of Worthington; two daughters, Janelle (Keith) Szymanski of Prospect and Wanda Milito of Worthington; three granddaughters, Karley Milito, Liliana Milito and Tessa Szymanski; sister, Debra (Lyle) Foringer; brother, Darl “Butch” (Donna) Brocious; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Darl and Elizabeth Brocious; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Shirley Toy.
TOY — A funeral service for Janet Lynn (Brocious) Toy, who died Sunday, March 3, 2024, will be held at noon Friday at Franklin Union Baptist Church, 106 Century Hill Lane, Worthington, with the Revs. Victor Sansing and Scott Jones officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington.
Arrangements are under the direction of F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Bear St., Worthington.
