Elizabeth Srock

Srock

Elizabeth Regina Srock, 87, of Butler, passed away peacefully at UPMC Passavant Hospital on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024.

She was born on June 24, 1936, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Mullner.

Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh in the year 1955. Her passion for nursing was not only a field of study but also a lifelong pursuit. Shortly afterward, she married Delmar James Srock on Oct. 29, 1960, at St. Conrad Church in their hometown of Meridian. She later relocated to Penn Township and became an active, lifelong member of the Holy Sepulcher Parish. After raising her children, she resumed her career taking on head nursing responsibilities for various organizations, including Armco Steel, Alcoa and VNA.

Following retirement, she spent the majority of her time excelling in her proudest role of being a grandmother. When she wasn’t doting over her seven grandchildren, she was crafting in her studio, instructing bereavement classes, singing in the church choir or acting as an RCIA sponsor.

Elizabeth is survived by her three sons, James (Marie) Srock, Christopher (Diane) Srock and Kevin (Jennifer) Srock; and her seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Jim, Brittney, Emily, Angela, Hannah and Jessica.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Delmar James Srock; her sister, Elaine Hawthorne; and brothers, Fred and James Mullner.
