Norma Jean Christy, 86, of Butler, peacefully passed away at Newhaven Court at Clearview on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024.

Born in Butler on Nov. 8, 1937, she was a daughter of the late George and Rose Berra.

Norma was a homemaker.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Norma was strong-willed and independent with a fierce love and pride for her family. She will be sadly missed by her loved ones and friends.

She was the proud mother of Kirby Christy and the late Tyrone Christy.

Norma is survived by her son, Kirby, and his wife, Julie, of Pittsburgh, and her son Tyrone’s wife, Anne Christy-Malloy, of Butler; six grandchildren, Rachel Christy, Leah Sosa and her husband, Carlos, Abby Christy, Amanda Christy, Victoria Christy and Sean Christy; and three great-grandchildren, Bentley, Brooklyn and Brylan Bates.

In addition to her parents and her son, Tyrone, Norma was preceded in death by her siblings, Tony Berra, Victor Berra, Mary Campbell and Gloria Kienzle.

CHRISTY — There was no visitation for Norma Jean Christy, who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024.

A private Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, and burial took place in St. Peter Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
