Mitchell ‘Bud’ Lendyak

Mitchell “Bud” Lendyak, 90, of Slippery Rock, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024.

Bud was born in Cowansville on Aug. 16, 1933, as the son of the late Adam and Grace (Shearer) Lendyak. He was a lifelong resident of Slippery Rock. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force.

Bud married the love of his life, Loretta Ann (Boosel), on April 6, 1978. He was a musician most of his life, playing together with his wife in their band, Loretta Ann and the Silvertones. He drove truck cross country and was the former owner of Maples Tavern. He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and fishing but most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; his children, Mike (Elena) Lendyak, Terri Smith, Von (Lynda) McCommons, Ben (Terry) McCommons and Sis (Bill) Barton; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Sweet of New York, and several nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; three children, George and David Geiser and Paula Hart; and one great-grandchild, Robbie Smith.

LENDYAK — A memorial service for Mitchell “Bud” Lendyak, who died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Chapel at Grove Manor, 435 N. Broad St., Grove City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to God’s Country, c/o First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.

WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, West Sunbury, has assisted Bud’s family with arrangements.
