William Moore
William Richard “Bill” Moore, 76, of Cowansville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at Sergeant Joseph George Kusick VA Community Living Center, surrounded by family.
He was born Aug. 30, 1947, in Kittanning, the son of the late Richard and Mona (Booher) Moore.
He worked at Magnetics Tool and Die in East Butler. Bill was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of specialist fifth class. He was of the Baptist faith, an avid churchgoer and Sunday school teacher. He taught all his children about the Bible.
Bill enjoyed golfing, collecting knives, watching Pittsburgh sports teams — especially his favorite, the Pirates — riding his side-by-side, listening to music and singing and playing guitar. He was also a black belt Taekwondo instructor.
He leaves behind to forever cherish his memory his wife of 51 years, Catherine V. (Gauker) Moore; son, Adrian (Megan) Moore; daughters, Julie Moore-Rhodes and Janine (Jason) Strohm; son, William C. (Nicki) Moore; daughter, Emily (Daniel) Owens; sixteen grandchildren, Athia Strohm, Taylor Moore, Morgan Rhodes, Kendall Moore, Maia Strohm, Garrett Rhodes, Ava Moore, Gentrey Moore, Sidney Moore, Danika Moore, Lilliana Moore, Remington Owens, Easton Owens, Rowan Moore, Ember Moore and Addyson Owens; brother, James (Dotty) Moore; sister, Dena (David) Bowman; and son-in-law, Clint Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
MOORE — Friends of William Richard “Bill” Moore, who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024, at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 832 East Brady Road, Cowansville, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be in Croyle Cemetery, Adrian, Pa.
