Josephine Sychak
Josephine A. Sychak, 105, of Butler, passed away, Sunday Dec. 31, 2023, at Concordia in Cabot.
She was born March 24, 1918, in Butler, a daughter of the late John Zambiski and Catherine (Solon) Zambiski.
Josephine was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, the Ladies Guild at St. John’s, and her church bowling leagues. She had been a lifetime member of the Tanglewood Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Gall of Butler and Cynthia Sychak-Berry (Charles) of Gibsonia; seven grandchildren, Jon (Shannon) Gall, Jamie (Cari) Sychak, Sharilyn (Shon) Wright, John (Marrissa) Berry, Christopher Berry, Joshua Sychak and Megan (Brett) Nardi; one stepgranddaughter, Tammy (Ron) Henry; seven great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Sychak Sr., who passed away July 10, 1984; her son, John J. “Jim” Sychak Jr., who passed away Jan. 12, 2001; four brothers; six sisters; and a son-in-law, Leroy Gall.
SYCHAK — There will not be a visitation for Josephine A. Sychak, who died Sunday Dec. 31, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Radko Blichar, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
