Victoria Schmeider

Schmeider

The world has lost a beautiful soul. Victoria “Vikki” Lynn (Dailey) Schmeider, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Cabot, gained her angel wings on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving husband and daughter.

Born May 29, 1952, she was the daughter of the late James and Shirley Dailey of Butler.

Vikki was a 1970 graduate of Butler Senior High School. Upon graduation, she was employed as a teller at Citizens National Bank in Butler. Not long after graduation, Vikki met and married her husband of 52 years, Joseph J. Schmeider Jr., on Aug. 6, 1971. They made their home in Cabot. She soon realized her dream of becoming a mother, raising their two children, Justin and Nikki.

For over a decade, Vikki and Joe were active members of the Butler Two Steppers Club. They also enjoyed the club’s bicycle riding adventures and vacation trips. Vikki had a love for teaching water aerobics and spent her leisure time painting, crafting and antiquing. She was also a member of the Herbal Garden Club, spending many hours landscaping, raising pond fish and pond plants.

Vikki worked many years for Winfield Township as a secretary, treasurer, zoning officer and planning commission board member, until her retirement in 2014. Upon retirement, Vikki and her husband became snowbirds, enjoying the warm sunshine in Florida through the winter months. She immediately made new friends with ease and served on an HOA board as treasurer and took on the role of event coordinator, planning ladies luncheons, happy hour events, a high noon tea and a Florida style fashion show.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Joseph J. Schmeider Jr. of Fort Myers, Fla. Also surviving are her son, Justin J. Schmeider, his wife Heather, and their two children, Justice and Liberty, of Butler; and daughter, Nickolette N. Goodemote, her husband Wesley, and their three children, Charlotte, Lincoln and Gracie of New Wilmington, Pa., where she and Joe made their home during the summer months.

In addition to her parents, Vikki was preceded in death by her sister, Tamera Green.

Vikki’s love for her family and friends was a constant reminder that life is a gift to be cherished and celebrated. Her strength and determined spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

Loved by so many, Vikki was honored at a celebration of life “Flamingle” Party at the Club at Crystal Lake on Nov. 29, 2023. A second celebration of life is being planned for May 2024 in New Wilmington, with family and friends.
