Seneca Valley introduces paraprofessional incentive plan
At the Seneca Valley School District, the behind-the-scenes workers that make school function will get an added reward for their efforts.
At its school board meeting on Monday, Nov. 8, the school district unveiled a new incentive program for its paraprofessional workers that will take effect this January and last until the end of this school year.
All paraprofessionals who work every workday from Jan. 22 to June 6 (which is expected to be the last day of school) will receive a bonus of $375. All multiple support paraprofessionals who achieve likewise will receive a bonus of $675.
Any paraprofessional who holds a four-year college degree and achieves likewise will receive a bonus of $1,350.
In addition, any Seneca Valley employee who recruits a new paraprofessional employee between now and April 17 will receive a bonus of $200. The recruited employee must be new to the district and work 30 days as a paraprofessional by June 6.
The district also will provide $50 of reimbursement for any background checks performed on a paraprofessional employee hired between now and June 6, so long as that employee completes 30 days of work and completes the employee reimbursement form.
