Grossman

Doris J. Grossman, 80, of West Sunbury, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born on Feb. 14, 1943, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Brewster and the late Sara Elmira Sutton Brewster.

Doris retired from her career as a secretary at Dassa McKinney Elementary School. Prior to working at the school she worked at Spang & Company. She was an avid reader but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Melissa Grossman (fiancé Skip) of Butler; one son, Samuel (Tiffany) Grossman of West Sunbury; five grandchildren, Michael (Krissa) Miano of Austintown, Ohio, Ryan Miano (Andie) of Butler, Colby Grossman of Parker, Shyan Grossman (fiancé Gage) of Slippery Rock, and Stephany Berry (Cody) of New Castle; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Grossman (late Melvin) and Illa Hortert (late Terry); two brothers, Charles (Susan) Brewster and John (Mary) Brewster; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Samuel E. Grossman, whom she married on May 16, 1964, and who passed away on Dec. 10, 2022; one sister, Alma Polum; twin great-granddaughters, Ryleigh and Ahna Miano; and one nephew, Kevin Lamoreaux.

GROSSMAN — Visitation for Doris J. Grossman, who died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Private funeral and burial services in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
