United Way moves to Pullman Center Business Park

The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is moving its office from West Jefferson Street to Pullman Center Business Park, but the address is the only change partner agencies and volunteers will experience in the move.

Amy Franz, Butler region director of the United Way, said the agency has a stand-alone building at 124 Hollywood Drive, which has more space for volunteer activity and community involvement.

“As we have more in-person volunteer opportunities coming online, we want to bring people in,” Franz said. “We have a local operating board and it will be nice to bring them here.”

According to Franz, the move will take a couple weeks to complete, and the staff began the move Wednesday, Dec. 6. She said the move should be done by Dec. 18, and until then, staff will be working out of the old and the new offices at the same time.

The United Way has been operating from an office at 407A W. Jefferson St. in Butler for about seven years, Franz said, and board meetings have taken place at NexTier Bank during that time. Franz said staff members are eager to have a new, stand-alone space.

“It is exciting. We like the fact that we have more space,” Franz said. “The parking is ample … We've got a plan to reface the exterior when the weather breaks.”

Franz said the United Way’s phone numbers are being ported to the new building as well, so the old number will still work.
