Harmony’s annual WeihnachtsMarkt, or German-style Christmas market, has been named one of the Top 20 Christmas Markets in the nation by Travel Magazine.

Held Nov. 11-12 this year, the event attracts families from across the tri-state area for unique shopping and a celebration of Harmony’s German roots. The market features German music, food and thousands of unique artisan items for sale.

Specialty vendors and traditional crafters were chosen to participate for the quality of their offerings, including regionally produced wine, moonshine and imported German goods. The traditional German holiday beverage Glühwein will be available in a commemorative mug.

Market hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 11 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Admission is $8 for adults; $6 for Harmony Museum members and seniors; $4 for students; and free for children 5 and younger. Tickets include all-day access to the market, entertainment, and horse-drawn wagon rides through Harmony’s National Historic Landmark District.

Parking is free in marked lots throughout the borough. A free shuttle bus will take visitors from the parking lots to the Christmas Market entrance.
