American Legion Post 778 holding annual ‘Stand Down’ this Friday

The American Legion Post 778 in Butler Township will host the eighth annual “Stand Down” event, which offers free services and resources for Butler County’s military veterans.

About 60 vendors are signed up to assist veterans in numerous ways, including providing haircuts. Veterans can also receive referrals for health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling and other essential services.

The guest speaker at this year’s event will be Deven Schei, a spokesperson for Warriors Speak.

The doors will open for veterans only at 11 a.m., and will open to the general public from noon to 1:30 p.m. For the “veterans only” portion, proof of veteran status will be required to enter.

The Post is located at 150 Legion Memorial Lane.
