Man accused of having gun in car at Knoch Middle School campus

A Sarver man was charged with a misdemeanor after police said he had a gun in his car on Knoch Middle School campus.

Wesley D. Martin, 55, was charged with possessing a weapon on school property Wednesday, Oct. 25, according to court documents.

Saxonburg police said they were dispatched to the the school around 2:20 p.m. that day. Documents showed members of the Butler County Sheriff’s Department discovered a Kimber 1911 pistol in Martin’s truck as they were serving a PFA.

Officers said they approached Martin in front of the school, and he disclosed that he had not considered the firearm and was aware firearms were not allowed on school property.

Martin was arrested and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
