SR girls soccer ends season with playoff loss
The Slippery Rock girls soccer team's season came to an end Saturday with a 4-2 loss to Harbor Creek in a District 10 Class 2A first-round playoff at Veterans Stadium in Erie.
The Rockets took an early lead with Ava Reich's goal in the ninth minute, but the Huskies scored the next three, including a pair just a minute apart early in the second half.
Brooke Arblaster added a goal on a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 3-2, but Slippery Rock got no closer.
The Rockets entered the playoffs as the No. 10 seed.
Thomas Jefferson 1, North Catholic 0, OT — The Trojans (9-8) ended their season with this road WPIAL 3A playoff loss. North Catholic had won five straight games — outscoring the opposition 24-2 during that stretch — before dropping its last two games.
Thomas Jefferson (16-2-1) won for the ninth time in 10 games.
