Edward Gnoth

Gnoth

Edward L. Gnoth, a man of profound generosity, selflessness, and love, passed away peacefully at home in Pleasant Hills, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, due to an unfortunate accident.

Born on March 19, 1943, in Brookeville, Pa., Edward led a life that was defined by his dedication to serving others and his unwavering commitment to his family, friends and community.

Educated at the California University of Pennsylvania, Edward earned a Bachelor of Science degree, which would be the foundation of his professional life. However, his dedication to service and community was evidenced by his impressive 50-year association with the Freemasons. As the Worshipful Master of Harmony Lodge, Edward held a key leadership role, guiding the fraternity with wisdom and dedication. His commitment to the organization was unwavering, and his impact was immeasurable.

Edward was also a man of deep faith, often volunteering for his church and lending a helping hand wherever needed. His selfless nature and generous spirit were apparent in his actions, from his professional life to his personal relationships. He was always there to support and uplift those around him, making him a beloved figure in his community.

An avid sports fan, Edward found immense joy in watching his grandsons, Caleb and Caden, play sports. He was their biggest cheerleader, always ready with words of encouragement or advice. His love for his family was evident in these moments, his pride in their achievements shining brightly in his eyes.

Edward also had a deep connection with the outdoors. He cherished spending time at camp in Clarion, Pa., a place where he could unwind and enjoy the tranquility of nature. These moments of solitude and reflection were precious to him, providing a balance to his active community involvement.

Edward is survived by his two sons, Edward P. (Michele) and James; and his grandsons, Caleb and Caden. His great-aunt, Betty, will also fondly remember him.

His love for his family was as deep as the ocean, and he was a guiding light in their lives, always putting their needs before his own. His generous spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched.
