Julie Graham hired as county solicitor
The county commissioners have ended their search for a solicitor by hiring Julie Graham, who has been filling the role since March.
Effective Jan. 1, Graham will serve as solicitor and receive $11,667 a month in compensation until she or the commissioners terminate the professional service agreement, which the commissioners approved Wednesday.
Graham became acting solicitor when former solicitor Wil White and the commissioners parted ways in March.
In other business Wednesday, the commissioners voted to end its lease with Butler for the Whippo Avenue playground, effective Oct. 18.
Butler City Council voted to terminate the lease in August.
County officials said the playground equipment at the playground does not meet current standards and will be removed.
