William Allison
William J. Allison, 80, of Sarver, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, at his home.
Born March 29, 1943, in Winfield Township, he was the son of William Ford Allison and Juanita Kelly Allison.
Bill had worked as a barber and also as a truck driver for GNC. He was a member of Zion Methodist Community Church in Sarver, North Central Pennsylvania Slovenian Polka Boosters, Prime Time Polka, Sarver Veterans Club, Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Happy Hunters. He enjoyed hunting, dirt track racing, polka dancing and watching the Steelers.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne Snyder Allison, whom he married Aug. 4, 2017; two daughters, Tracy Richardson, of Herndon, Va. and Trudy (Joe) Barca, of Pittsburgh; his stepson, Troy (Lisa) Geib, of Mt. Joy, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Denise (Larry) Shank, of Hershey, Pa. and Jodie (Travis) Young, of Montrose, Ga.; six grandchildren, Joey, Jacob, Justin, Jordan, Janelle and Avery Jo; and one great-grandson, Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lorraine Giesler and Karen Allison.
ALLISON — Friends of William J. Allison, who died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Zion Methodist Community Church, 438 Bear Creek Road, Sarver, with the Rev. Seth McClymonds officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
